Not always – depending on the shoe type and your foot shape, it can make sense to choose differently when you’re between sizes. Here are our recommendations:
- Sandals: For open sandals, you don’t need extra space in front of the toes. Choose the size that matches your foot length – no buffer needed.
- Ballet flats: These also require little to no extra room. They’re designed to fit comfortably while still allowing natural movement.
- Sneakers & winter boots: For closed shoes, we recommend choosing the larger size if you’re between two. Around 1 to 1.2 cm of space in front of the toes gives you enough room to roll through – especially helpful when wearing thicker socks in winter boots.
Important:
No matter which type of shoe you choose, make sure your foot doesn’t slip and that the shoe fits well around the midfoot for optimal comfort.
